Women Do Business

Women Do Business was founded in 2020 and is a civil non-profit organization promoting women’s entrepreneurship and the elimination of stereotypes, mainly in the region of Crete, as well as the rest of Greece and abroad, in areas where there are fewer opportunities for women.

The organization’s vision is to inspire, motivate and support women to implement their business ideas, thus reducing the corporate inequality that exists in Crete and all over Greece. In addition, it develops holistic and multidimensional support for all women wishing to enter the world of business, helping them overcome limiting beliefs that hold them back, and cope with the multiple roles they are required to perform.

Support for the “Small Societies – Big Initiatives” Program

The grant pertains to support for the “Small Societies – Big Initiatives” action. Women Do Business will carry out a round of face-to-face educational seminars aimed at empowerment and skills development in women living in the municipality of Hersonissos and wishing to realize their business idea. The municipality of Hersonisos is a seaside municipality with multiple opportunities for business development in tourism and other fields, and the need to support potential female entrepreneurs in the area is pronounced. The program includes a round of face-to-face seminars, lasting a total of 20 hours. The seminars include a holistic approach to various proposals, based on the participants’ needs. It is estimated that 30 people will benefit from the grant.

The action is implemented with a grant from the Athina I. Martinou Foundation, as part of the “Points of Support” program, in the category “Social Innovation in Small Seaside Local Societies”.
