CYCLADES PRESERVATION FUND

Founded in the United Kingdom in 2017 and in Greece in 2021, to support sustainable initiatives and promote the preservation of the natural beauty of the Cyclades.

Its mission is to reinforce local societies by supporting the local environment.

The CPF Islanders’ Forum is an annual CPF event that encourages creative dialogue, knowledge exchange and the alliance of the islands’ civil society organizations to implement joint actions for the natural terrestrial and marine environment that is subject to pressure from human activity.

Support for the organization of a forum for the environmental organizations of the Cyclades

The grant pertains to covering a part of the expenses of Islanders Forum 2024, which will be held between October 18 and 21, 2004, in Santorini. The participants are representatives of local environmental groups, initiatives and associations, as well as innovative organizations working on issues of sustainability in the Cyclades region, and include CPF grantees. The program includes: 1) annual meeting of Forum members with networking events and exchange of best practices, as well as capacity building activities, 2) field visits in collaboration with Dive in Action and Theran Sea, 3) open/public event, and 4) training provided by the Cyclades Care for Wildlife program. The number of direct beneficiaries of the program is estimated at 50 participants from 45 local organizations of the Cyclades and other islands.
